I have a table full of books and a floor full of boxes. I have been trying create care packages for service people overseas. Of course I am worried that I am somehow not doing it correctly, but is there a correct way? It is just a package of assorted items meant to entertain and nourish those serving our country but I somehow place this major importance on impacting peoples lives in a positive manner. I want to make people know, in this small way, that they are appreciated and I know that they are sacrificing a part of their lives, they can never get back, to wage a war on terrorism & injustice. I think the part I probably dislike the most is having to go to the post office. The man there is always so nice but it never fails that I have forgotten to dot an i or cross a t. I feel like I am incompatent because I am unable to properly address, package and send a package. It isn't a normal package though because you have to fill out a customs form. In the end, the positive aspect of making a differeance in a person's life outweighs the negative postal office experiance.
On another note, I am considering buying a small motercycle to drive to work. The price of gas has become so expensive that I cannot justify driving. My PT cruiser only gets 17-18 mpg in town and 22 on the highway. I spent $41 to fill up today. I only make it about 1 week on a tank. That is $160 a month on gasoline. I can definitely think of better ways to spend my money. My first vehicle was a Honda Aero 80. A small motorcycle. It was a lot of fun to ride and I could generally drive 100 miles on a gallon of gas. Now that I can justify.
I will be working Friday, Saturday & Sunday and then I have 17 days off. Woo Hoo! I am so ready. I am getting my wisdom teeth taken out next Tuesday but I will have plenty of time thereafter to recover. We are going to Robber's Cave State Park June 6-8. I reserved a cabin & we are planning for this to be our "family" vacation. I think the kids will love it. The pool will be open & we can always go on nature hikes and climb the cave. Lilli & I will then go to Girl Scout Camp at Robbers Cave June 9-11. I am going to be the camp nurse during the day but I will still be available to go do a few fun things with my girls. I am looking forward to it as well.
Have a great day!
